Principal’s message

Kambalda West prides itself on having a true community and family spirit. We are a school that values family, community and culture. Parents and community members are encouraged to play an active role in our school to ensure that students can achieve the best possible outcomes. We embrace the experiences and backgrounds of our culturally diverse school. We honour our first Australians, the traditional owners of the land and celebrating their culture and traditional days.

Together with our school community vision that guides all that we do, our school motto of “Citizenship and Success” encourages students to make strong and smart choices about their education, attendance and behaviour. The “Citizenship and Success” motto inspires us all to be the very best we can be. To be proud of who we are and where we come from. It guides us to think of where we’re headed and where we want to be.

Embedding our behavioural expectations of REACH (Respect, Excellence, Aspiration, Connection, Harmony), our policies and curriculum provide an inclusive approach to educating children regardless of their individual differences, backgrounds and learning styles. We pride ourselves on our diversity with students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultural communities.

Our teachers and support staff are committed professionals, dedicated to ensuring excellence and equity for all our students. Our staff maintains high expectations for student behaviour and academic achievement and adopts a wide range of innovative teaching practices, bringing a blend of experience and expertise to the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum.

I would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of all our students, staff, parents and carers, the School Council, the Parents & Citizens Association, volunteers and all of our community and corporate partners for their continued support. It is your efforts that make us a wonderful school community.
